Festivities of Alcanar 2012
Sant Antoni (Paüls) 19,20 and 21st of January
· In the past they had 4 days of public holidays, but since some years ago there is only a festive meal on the day of San Roque.
· before the celebration there is the typical bread and olive oil (where mothers and children participate in the elevoration).
FRIDAY:
Preparing the mondongo.
That is making the sausages.
-50kg onion-15 Kg rice
-1kg pine nuts

-salt and pepper

This year there were 650 “baldanes”.
This the popular lunch. |
They organize a competition of “all i oli” ( a type of mayonaise made with garlic and olive oil).
For lunch they eat bacon, pork,”baldanes”, sausages.
In the evening there is a dancing and burnt brandy, and popular games.
SUNDAY:
On Sunday is there is the blessing of the animals.
