Heiresses from Montsià.
Alcanar

These are the heiresses from Alcanar. Each year, seventeen girls are chosen to be. Heiress and representative of different cultural or sport organizations. For church they dress as a bride and for other events they dress like a peasant.


Sant Carles de la Ràpita

Normally all the heiresses wear long white dresses, carrying a tape, but for other events such as distributing cakes from home to home, they dress as a peasant.To choose the heiress they do a draw.




Ulldecona

In Ulldecona the heiresses wear a long white dress as brides. Ages range from 10 up to 18




Mas de Barberans.

Each identity,chooses their heir. The white dress, the dress is typical of these parties.



Masdenverge
In masdenverge each identity, chooses their heiress.The typical dress is the Catalan, and they wear a White dress for the party at night.


Amposta




These are heiresses from Amposta .They are chosen  by the different entities from the town, such as “ Swimming club”, “ La Lira”, different sport clubs...


Sant Jaume d’Enveja




These are heiresses from Sant Jaume d’Enveja. They are chosen by a draw. At night they wear a white dress,which is like a wedding dress. In other occasions such as the offering procession or mass in honour of the patron  they dress up with the typical suit  that is how ancient middle class people dressed.















Godall
In Godall, the heiresses there are chosen for ages, when the girls are 18 years old and 8. All the heiresses wear long white dresses and for other events, they dress as peasants.































Santa Barbara.

In Santa Barbara, the heiresses assist to  many events and receive flowers and a band. They are chosen for ages, at 18 and 8 years old.





La Galera.

The heiresses there are chosen for ages. All the heiresses wear long
dresses in the nights from the parties in the Galera.





Freginals.

In Freginals three eighteen –year-old heiresses are chosen. They are selected by the Mayor. They write a letter to show their gratitude.















Els Muntells.

In Muntells heiresses are chosen when they are 18 and 8 by vote. The heiresses go to the parties of the town with dresses and one afternoon distribute cakes from home to home.



La Sènia.

With votes the people choose the queen of the heiresses. They dress with white dresses.

La Galera.






At Galera, the bulls are celebrated every year in a bullring. 



Santa Barbara.















“Bou Cap Llaçat” In santa Barbara the people tie a bull with rope and run with him in the streets of the town, the people stretch the rope to hold the bull.



Godall.




In Godall the bulls are celebrated in a bullring.


Amposta.





Bulls are very traditional in Amposta. The most common is "bou embolat" (but with fire on its horns).








Sant Jaume d'Enveja.



Some people are in favour of bullfighting and others are agains.  In the picture you can see a “bou capllaçat”.People take the bull by the horns with a rope and they take it throughout the village.





La Sènia.

The bulls of La Sènia are enclosed in a bullring and then run in the bullring. At night a man puts fire at the horns of the bull and the people run with the bull until the fire is extinguished. Other activities of the festivities in La Sènia are races of horses and donkeys. 





Els Muntells.

The landscape of Muntells has the best spots with an important fauna and typical flora of the Delta. The Major Party dedicated to Sant Llorenç is from 8 to 15 August, highlighting the bulls, big dances...
They are a type of games but bulls don't die, people drop a bull in the square and with capes they fight it, these games often take place in Catalonia.















Freginals.

Normally the festivities of the Freginals start on 21st of August and finish on 28th of August. There aren't any bulls in the afternoons, but there are other activities for example dances, masses, the band of the village...

The bulls are the holiday tradition.
Every day bulls are different, and people often fight.

where they release a bull and they

Ulldecona.

Some evenings of celebration of Ulldecona, they release bulls through the streets while some men run behind or in front of the bulls, and even fight them. That’s called “correbous”.



Sant Carles de la Ràpita.

As in almost all villages, they have
a bullbing closed, in Sant Carles de
la Ràpita they have a huge square
where in the evening, they release
a big bull in the square with balls
of fire in the horns.

  Bulls are old tradition on  Delta. This is a tipical bull ring fron Deltebre.

                                         
    In the bullring the bullfighters are the young men.
  The bulls sometimes is a accompanied by meals and traditional parties in a bull ring. Sometimes in this  event have more gastronomic  events.

The "correbous" is an activity in which bulls run over the street. It consists of dropping a calf, cow or ox in a limited urban route, protected to prevent the animal leave the path.

Dances!

Els Muntells!

Around the new schools, people celebrate dances with different orchestras every night. There is an auditorium and there the orchestras go and play the instruments and one person or a duet sing while people have lunch and dinner in the festivities of Els Muntells. Els Muntells gives a lot of importance to big dances. 














Freginals!

In Freginals people does one dance the third night in honour of the main heiress at twelve o’clock in the enclosure of parties. The fifth night there is another dance with a band and the following two nights there are dances.
 












La Sènia!

In La Sènia there is a group of dance and there are a different people participating in this group and every day they dance in the festivities of the village in front of everybody.









Alcanar!

In Alcanar, one of the tradiditional dances is the “jota”.
The steps in the “jota” resemble the waltz, though there is much more variation. Its music is formed by guitars, lutes and drums.


Ulldecona!

The sardana is a dance group and circle. The origin of the sardana or similar dances that exist in half of Europe is unknown.

Masdenverge!

Masdenverge the traditional dances are sardanas and ballroom dancing.

In Mas de Barberans the tradicional dances are sardanas.
The Sardana is a dance group and circle, which is danced in Catalonia.




Amposta!

Times ago in Amposta people danced the "jota". For the music interpretation they used guitars, bandurrias, the steps that the dancers do resemble the waltz but with more variation.




Sant Jaume d’Enveja!

The traditional dance from Sant Jaume d'Enveja is the “sardana”. It consists of people holding  all  their hands and are in circle.





La Galera!

Every day in La Galera people go to the dance of the town with her friends, family... People enjoy a lot these dances; it is an important part of the festivities.


Godall!

In Godall every night during the festivities people go to the enclosure of the dance and during the night they dance, talk, enjoy...  At other events, the band of the town plays music.
 


Santa Bàrbara!

The first night of the festivities of Santa Barbara people dance traditional dances. Other nights the band of the town plays music. Most days in Santa Barbara there are many events related to music and dances.

Tortosa: In Tortosa, the main festivals have many colorful. The man's are dressed in the air throw flags and ornaments.









Ampolla: They are dancing the night.And disco for the young in the marquee.


Deltebre: In Deltebre  in the night are dances for the elderly. The young people are dances in the marquee (vidio). These dance is typically of Terres de L’Ebre.










 Paüls: This photo is for Paüls, in paüls are dances for the sardanes in the main festivals.

 Camarles: In Camarles are dancing in the night for the elderly and disco for the young in the marquee.

 Lligallo: They are dancing in the night for the elderly. And disco for the young in the marquee.

FIREWORKS and “correfocs”

Els Muntells!

Normally the second day of festivities they make the big popular “correfocs” and the people wear old clothes and sometimes they wear a hat and they throw water in order not to  burn themselves.



La Senia!

The last day of the festivities the beautiful fireworks are thrown.




 Freginals!

In Freginals one day of the festivities they make fireworks and  people  wear old clothes and they throw water and so they don’t get burnt.



Masdenverge!


In Masdenverge every year for the festivities they do “Correfocs”.

Correfocs are among the most striking features present in Catalan  festivals. In the correfoc, a group of individuals will dress as devils and light fireworks. While dancing to the drums of a traditional gralla, they will set off their fireworks among crowds of spectators.



Mas de Barberans!

In Mas de Babernans, every year for the festivities they do “Correfocs”.


Amposta!





In Amposta, they begin the festivities and they make Fireworks.



Sant Jaume d’Enveja!


In Sant Jaume d’Enveja, when there are celebrations, there are traditional "devils" who go down the street with Fireworks and pulling them passing through people.





Alcanar!

In Alcanar every day during the festivities they do “correfocs”. The people from the streets throwing lights colored to the sky and they wear suits to protect them from fire.



Ulldecona!

In Ulldecona, like most people from other towns, they are in the streets with  a wooden stick with a fireworks.







La Galera!

Some days “Els diables de l'Aldea” go to La Galera. They do a beautiful show for the people with fire for the streets of the town.

When the parties of Santa Barbara starts there are an initial fireworks.




Godall!

They don't set off fireworks.

The people responsible for pulling water on the fans of "correfocs". This is the party of the fire and water. 
Campredó
The peolpe of campredó  walking for the streets of the town, dressed as demond.
Deltebre
The ''Correfocs'' in Deltebre are a Combination of fire and music in the streets of the village.
Perelló
Men are placed under fire and dances rhythm of drums.
The people watching the firewors and involved in the firework and the kids play the drums.

Tortosa
Fires in the city of Tortosa are a combination a fireworks and the celebration of the Renaissance. To Tortosa fires are very spectacular, as is a great  light show and fireworks.

On  March 5th and 6th  there is the Gastronomic fair in La Sènia. This fair is dedicated to popular gastronomy and it represents the traditional jobs and diverse shows are presented about the old lifestyle.



Els Muntells!

On February 16th there is a fair about the festivity of the segregation with popular and gastronomic events.



Freginals!

On October 16th there is a fair and the Most Holy Sacraments are celebrated.



Godall!

Fair of the oil and asparagus of Godall. It is celebrated in the cultural places of the town. This fair is a kind of celebration for tasting oil and asparagus produced in the town.

Pottery Fair of La Galera. Every year in La Galera people celebrate this fair. There are more than 100 expositions and cites for visit. Every year a foreign country exposes pottery typical of their culture.

Fair of the oil, citrus and commerce of Santa Bàrbara. It's a fair of the most productive products of the town. During this fair there are many places to buy or taste this products.

In Ulldecona one of the fairs more known is the fairs Sant Lluc. In Ulldecona the fairs take place in the sport center where they build a carp where each store or each association has its tent and sell your product.

In Sant Carles de la Ràpita this gastronomic day of the shrimp and the ostrich. In a sport center are a carp where each person has a ticket and give you ostrich and the shrimp.



Amposta!

In Amposta people celebrate “Fira de Mostres”. It is one of the most important of Catalunya because of the great diversity of industrial, agricultural and commercial offers the visitor can find.

The Fair Trade Rice Village show the products of her garden and exclusive insider, their rice and their cultivated lands. The trade show their varied village. I will complement the offer of the fair with their products and their unique and varied cooking.

During the Corpus Cristi they decorate the streets with carpets and give tipical sweets of the people.




BENIFALLET



The culinary Benifallet exhibited every year thanks to the celebration of his culinary experiences. opened in 2005 with the rice farmer as the protagonist, the different restaurants of the town are its specialties revolve around a typical ingredient of the kitchen area. Among these have highlighted the different ways to prepare rabbit and cod. The first weekend of the month of November starts with a gourmet Benifallet opening the house, which introduces the succulent dishes that make  the menus of restaurants in the town. After the presentation, they will raffle among all guests.




L´AMPOLLA


This is the day of the bluepoint   the people more enjoying this. Eat blupoints and celebrate games and competitions.


                                                       BENIFALLET


The core Benifallet lies in the foothills of the Sierra de Cardo right next to the Ebro. For this reason, the history of the town is closely linked to the presence of the river. The draft navigability and river tourism attractions have recovered from their municipality. Therefore the second weekend in June is held Firebre, Fair Tourism, Adventure and River Navigation. This event aims to promote and publicize services and economic activities linked to the river. The program is complemented by guided tours of the Caves Wonderland, white water rafting trips down the river and tasting the local cuisine in the restaurants of the town.

·    ·     L’Aldea: In l’Aldea the day of the Arrós, col and fesols is celebrated . It Is the tipical food in Baix Ebre,it  is a hot food. Its ingredients are Arrós Bomba, pork rib, paw and ear, a ham bone.





·     ·    Aldover: The fogasseta is a single muffin, rather flat, circular-shaped, and made of decorated squares that lead to the top. Cut in half and made with season products: garlic and artichokes (or tender broad beans or asparagus), salami, sausages and combined with loin.
This food is typical of “Llarder” Thursday.







·   ·       Alfara de Carles: The wild boar stew and goat are typical in Alfara de Carles, as well as the black and white of rice baldana (blood sausage, onion, fat and blood.

        · Benifallet: The typical food of Benifallet is the “Pastissets de cabell d’Angel”.
It is a dried dough and a crunchy sugar coating. The ingredients needed to prepare the dough are flour, sugar, oil, sweet wine or spirits, and for the filling, pumpkin jam, sweet potato and brossat (cheese). On account of its origin which was born in the eleventh century, trough a contest convened by the governor of Tortosa, when the territory was under Arab rules.

















 ·  Camarles: The people from Camarles haven’t got a proper traditional food, do some festivities compete for which food is the best. One of these days is the day of the ‘’Allioli’’ and the participants make the ‘’all I oli’’ and judges say which the ‘’all I oli’’ is the best.
Another  day is the ‘’Baldanada’’.

 ·    Paüls: There is  not any a typical dish in Paüls, but for many centuries people made their preserves, and meats their( Mandongo) . There are  people who know how to  make it . It is a dish that people made a long time ago. It is a dish made with rice, parsley, bay leaf or herbal medicines such as thyme. This Rice is eaten on hot days. And a typical dessert from Paüls is ''Codonyat'', is a mixture ‘’codony’’ with sugar.

·    Roquetes: It does not  have a typical dish in Roquetes, but the fuck ( “punyetes”) are made, a kind of'' sweet '' from Roquetes.

  ·Tortosa:  The gastronomy of Tortosa is a combination of mountain and sea products. There are more typical products: ‘’Baldanes’’.
‘   ’L’Empedrat Tortosí’’ is a typical summer dish is made with boiled egg, cod, tomato ...

·        Clotxa: The ‘’clotxa’’ is a kind of food that people used to eat before in the Baix Ebre,it consists of cutting the top of the bread, taking it from of inside and then inside put  onion,tomato,sardine,garlic oil, then it is wraped  up with the top of the bread.
·        Anguila en suc: The eel with juice is made with some garlic , flour ,pepper red,leaf of laurel, tomatoes striped and glass of white 
·        Sanfaina: The “ Sanfaina” is a mixture of different ingredients, green peppers,aubergines,tomatoes,onions and oil.
·        Abadeijo en Sanfaina: We must have the ''sanfaina'' cooked and put the cod.
·        Escalivada: The “ Escalivada” consists of roasting aubergines, tomatoes, and pepper made to the fire, then mix everything and add salt and oil.
·        Pataques al caliu: When in the field people made bonfires,between the ashes they placed the potatoes to cook.
·        Pa amb vi I sucre: It consists of  bread, wine and some sugar with dust.
·        Recapte: It is a typical food consisting of: noodles, pork,vegetable,oil and potatoes.He compose a sort of stew which is made in all Catalonia.
·        Cargols de la boca roija: We need to boil and prepare the sofrito screws. The sauce has tomatoe, pepper red and green,salt,oil,pepper and meat.
·        Menjar Blanc:  It is a very filling desert made from milk,rice flour, almonds, sugar lemon and cinnamon.It is very sweet with its  origin in Reus and Tortosa.

Pizza and “coca”.
Pizza with different toppings, sweets and salty taste.
 The “coques” are always accompanied with fruit candies or some other kind of sweet.






Sant Jaume d’Enveja

This dish is called "Begonya", it is the more typical dish of Sant Jaume d'Enveja.






Amposta

Party of the “Carxofa”
It start on 25th of February  and ends on 31st of March. It is Held in the sports centre of the city. In this celebration the artichoke are cooked in different ways.                                                 Here are some:   


Skewered potato, artichoke and sausage; ; duck with  artichoke  and mushrooms; rice from "Delta del Ebre" with layers of ham; artichokes Crepe; Artichoke cakes  with seafood in cream peppers; stew cuttlefish and artichokes.












Ulldecona

One of the typical food in Ulldecona are the eels and the codfish, but the best known are the sweets. It Is a traditional sweet that is in the romb shape and is white. To prepare this sweet they use egg, sugar and flour.

In Sant Carles de la Ràpita fish and seafood.
The most important are prawns, mussels and shrimp.

The Clementine stands out among the typical products of Alcanar, this fruit in the area is very appreciated for its sweet taste. On the other hand, there are the mussels.





Godall


The first day of the festivities of Godall the heiresses go to all the streets of the town to give panoli (cakes made of bread, oil and sugar). One day the old people of Godall and the last day everyone do the “sopar de germanor” (a dinner) to say goodbye to the festivities.
